Hillclimbing here in Ireland has received a boost with thanks to a recent article by Alisdair Suttie in today’s Irish Times. It’s great to see Alisdair highlighting what is a very enjoyable branch of motorsport, where newcomers will find a relaxed atmosphere with competitors who are happy to chat and give advice on how to get involved. The Tipperary Club’s hillclimb weekend takes place next Saturday and Sunday (July 4th/5th) on the Sweep outside Dungarvan and presents an opportunity to learn more about hillclimbs at first hand. Please note that the article in the Times today was about a Hillclimb in Scotland. Safety requirements are slightly different here in Ireland and apply to all cars and competitors who wish to take part in hillclimbs. Don’t worry though, it’s still very easy to get started in hillclimbing. For more information about technical and safety requirements, please see the Motorsport Ireland Website or contact us via the contact page if you have any specific questions. We’ll do our best to find the information you are looking for. We hope to see you all in Limerick
